RSS (Really Simple Syndication) allows you to gather automatically news updates from a variety of Web site feeds – including DePaul University's online newsroom – into one simple format on your computer. You view these news feeds through a program called a news aggregator or reader, which displays headlines and links to the full text. RSS is widely used by news media Web sites and the Web log (blog) community to syndicate news.
A number of free and commercial news aggregators are available for download to your desktop. Other service providers will let you add RSS feeds to a Web page.
